Curtis Stone and Angela Reid put together a major bike rally that finished at 3:50 with a fairly factual climate change presentation by Angela Reid herself. http://www.flickr.com/photos/35573792@N06/4050098424/
The day was absolutely beautiful and the turn out was great too. Kelowna definitely contributed some pictures to the 350.org slide show projection in Time Square New York along with the many other caring people world wide. The most interesting part of the day was getting to know both Curtis and Angela. Curtis is a Spin Farmer who is “Turning neglected urban lawn spaces into productive vegetable gardens.” and doing all the transportation (even collecting the compost) on his bicyclette ! http://greencityacres.blogspot.com/
And Angela Reid is a city councillor in Kelowna and also ran as a candidate for the Green Party of British Columbia. She not only presented a well researched and factual Climate Change Presentation (even I, who has been to more climate change presentation than anything found it interesting) she is a really great and incredibly active woman. http://www.flickr.com/photos/35573792@N06/4050099702/
Then, Gab who is part of Summerhill Pyramid Winery, invited us to his place. If you have never heard of a Pyramid Winery, nether have I, but it’s truly fascinating and 100% organic and Biodynamic! The Pyramid is the wine’s temple where the wine, that is alive, can (re)cover from bottle shock. So, we grabbed a red and a white and we were off…

I love your short and sweet blogs - you always get me hooked on a new idea or a new eco-collaboration.
I LOVE the idea of a Spin Farmer and I might try to get something like that happening near me.
Your blog is simply the only place I can find real inspiration,
cheers !
Melanie, that is awesome that you were in Kelowna for the Climate Action Day. These events that were held throughout the world are (I believe) raising awareness before the talks in Barcelona and ultimately Copenhagen. Thanks for the update! Also LOVE the idea of a Spin Farmer!
